DIY Cheesecloth Ghosts

Let's make a ghostie with the mostie! đŸ‘» This craft is too cheesy! 😏

Boo y'all! Halloween season is almost here! Follow along to make your own cheesecloth ghost!

Supplies Needed:

Step 1 - Make your plan! đŸ‘»

  • First, determine how many ghosts you want to create. We each made 2-3 ghosts.

  • Every ghost will need its own mason jar/cup, balloon, and pipe cleaner. This will become your vessel to support your ghosties.

Step 2 - Pipe Cleaner Arms đŸ€·â€â™€ïž

  • Now, attach a pipe cleaner to your ghost vessel. These will stick out to form your ghost arms.

  • Pro Tip: Add some tin foil around the pipe cleaners to make sure the arms are sturdy enough to hold up the cheesecloth.

Step 3 - Blow Up Balloons 🎈

  • Next, blow up balloons for each ghost you want to create and make sure they fit well on top of your jar/cup because this will form the head shape of your ghost.

Step 4 - Time to get Cheesy! 🧀

  • Once your balloon heads and pipe cleaner arms are attached to your vessel, cut your cheesecloth strips to match the height of each ghost.

  • Pro tip: Cut your cheesecloth strips a little longer than your ghost, so the bottoms pool down to create a more stable platform.

Step 5 - When you Dip, I Dip, We Dip!

  • Now, it's time to dip your cheesecloth in liquid starch or Mod Podge. Once your cheesecloth is wet, layer it over your ghost form until you are satisfied with the shape.

  • Pro Tip: Use 2 to 3 layers of cheesecloth for each ghost.

Step 6 - Dry Dry Baby!

  • Wait 24-48 hours for your cheesecloth to dry. It should stiffen.

Step 7 - Eye See You! 👀

  • Once your cheesecloth is dry, remove the ghost form (jar/cup, balloon, and pipe cleaners) and cut out some circles to be your ghost eyes from the black felt. 👀

Step 8 - Hey Pumpkin! 🎃

  • Glue on the felt eyes and add any final touches—like a cute little pumpkin from Dollar Tree.

Step 9 - Get ghosted! đŸ‘»

  • Now it's time to display your spooky new ghost friends!

Boo Y'all! đŸ‘»
